Albania has received an invitation from the United States to join the Gaza Peace Council

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that US President Trump invited Tirana to join the Gaza Peace Council.

"I am happy to share with you the letter received yesterday from US President Donald Trump, in which he thanks for the trust shown to him and assures that he will do everything necessary to raise the name of Albania and the dignity of Albanians," Rama wrote on Facebook.

He also published the letter of the American leader, in which he officially invites Albania, represented by the head of the government, to join as a founding member and sign the charter of the "Peace Council".

In mid-November 2025, the UN Security Council approved a resolution proposed by the United States that supported Trump's comprehensive plan for the settlement of the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Thirteen of the 15 members of the Council voted in favor, while Russia and China abstained.
