A landslide in Papua New Guinea may have killed about 100 people

About 100 people may have died as a result of a large landslide in Papua New Guinea. The incident took place in the remote village of Kaokalam in Enga province, more than 600 km northwest of Port Moresby, ABC reported. According to Xinhua, residents said the death toll exceeded 100, but local authorities have not yet confirmed that number.

"It happened when people were still sleeping early in the morning. As far as I can guess, there are more than 100 people buried underground," said Elizabeth Laruma, president of the Porger Business Women's Association.
