In the Asian traditional karate championship held in Tashkent, two-time European and world champion Narek Iskandaryan (kata, kumite), European champions Erik Hovsepyan (kata) and Hovhannes Hakobyan (kata) won the champion title from the Armenian team. Elena Frolova-Trufanyan won the 3rd place in the individual kata competition.
In the group of 16-17 years old, Vahe Hovhannisyan took the 2nd place in the kumite competition, Mark Sukiasyan took the first place in the kata competition, and took the third place in the kumite competition.
In the girls' fight, Maria Kasyan won the first place in the individual kata, and won the 2nd place in the kumite competition. International referee Rafael Hoveyan was also part of the Armenian team. The Armenian national team went to the competition venue under the leadership of the president of the federation, Suren Matevosyan.
