An Apple bug leaked the App Store code to the Internet

The source code for the web version of the App Store has been made publicly available on GitHub due to a technical error made by Apple. However, experts estimate that the incident does not pose any security or user data risks, Rozetked reports.

The new web version of the App Store was released in early November. A few hours after the release, a developer using the alias rxliuli discovered that some of the original files were accessible without restrictions. Apparently, Apple hasn't disabled the sourcemaps files, which allow you to analyze the app's structure using Chrome's standard browser tools.

The leaker stated that he posted the archive on GitHub for educational purposes only. The vault remains publicly available, and Apple has not officially requested its removal.

Experts note that the leak did not expose any server components or user data, and the published materials cannot be used to gain unauthorized access to the system.

Users can search and browse apps from a browser in the web version of the App Store, even without an iPhone or Mac.
