Olivier Rousteing, the creative director of the French fashion house Balmain, has announced his resignation.
"Today is the end of my era at Balmain. 16 years ago I started this adventure with Balmain, not knowing what the future holds. Today I'm leaving the [fashion] house," Rusten wrote on Instagram.
According to Vogue magazine, the designer was appointed creative director of Balmain in April 2011 at the age of 25, and held the position for 14 years. Olivier Rousteing has become the youngest designer, not a founder, to lead a major Parisian fashion house since Yves Saint Laurent was appointed artistic director of Dior.
