EU budget spending on military mobility projects will increase tenfold to €17 billion in the next seven-year EU budget plan from 2028 to 2034. European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tsitsikostas announced this during a briefing held in Brussels.
"In the new seven-year budget framework of the EU (multiannual financial financing of 2028-2034 - TASS note) the budget for military mobility projects will increase tenfold. we will allocate 17 billion euros for military mobility and infrastructure," he said.
The European Commissioner emphasized that the 1.7 billion euros allocated for military mobility projects in the current seven-year EU budget program (2021-2027) "was spent within three years, as EU countries have shown great interest in projects in this field."
