Lebanon prefers diplomatic means to resolve the conflict with Israel and considers negotiations the only way to achieve the liberation of the occupied territories.
This was announced by the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, after meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, at the Baabda Palace. "The decision to start negotiations is a universal national choice for the Lebanese people.
We believe that diplomatic dialogue is better than the continuation of military operations, but Israel does not respond to our calls and carries out daily attacks in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley," the politician emphasized, as quoted by the press service of the president.
Aoun noted that Israel's attacks exacerbate tensions, endanger the lives of civilians and hinder the recovery of war-torn communities.
