Germany's oldest resident, Karl Heidle, has died two months after his 110th birthday.
Heidle was born on September 2, 1915, and lived through many upheavals of the 20th century, from the horrors of war to the dawn of the digital age.
Karl Heidle lived an independent life until a very old age. After the age of one hundred, he regularly took walks in the village, took care of his vineyard and was interested in social and world events every day.
