The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Yusuf Tuggar, has denied US President Donald Trump's claims that Christians are being persecuted in the country with the support of the Nigerian government.
At a press conference with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful in Berlin, Tuggar pointed out the principles of religious freedom and the rule of law enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.
"This is what shows that it is impossible for any kind of religious persecution to be supported in any way by the Nigerian government at any level, be it federal, state, local, it is impossible," Tuggar said, according to Reuters.
