The situation surrounding the Ukrainian conflict and Turkey's initiatives to resume negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul will be one of the topics of the cabinet meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, a source in the Turkish leader's administration told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Ankara is ready to host the fourth round of talks between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul.
"The issue of settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is always in the center of attention of Mr. President. Today's cabinet session will discuss the current situation and the initiatives to resume the negotiations in Istanbul," the source of the agency said.
Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of direct negotiations in Istanbul. As a result of them, an exchange of prisoners took place. Moreover, Russia handed over the bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen to the Kiev regime. The parties also exchanged draft memorandums on conflict settlement.
