States parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, including Russia and the United States, must fulfill their obligations under the treaty, said Anita Hipper, spokeswoman for the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kalas.
"We call on all parties to international agreements to fulfill their international obligations, including the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons," he said during a briefing in Brussels.
The spokesman gave the answer when asked about the reaction of EU member states as signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to Russia's tests of a nuclear-powered cruise missile, an underwater device with a nuclear power plant and plans by the United States to resume nuclear tests.
