Amid a public conflict with Canadian authorities, US President Donald Trump announced that he does not intend to meet with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during his upcoming visit to South Korea, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit is taking place.

"Let me tell the questioners that I did not go to South Korea to see Canada," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

On October 23, Trump announced that Washington had suspended trade talks with Ottawa because Canadian officials had paid for advertising in the United States criticizing tariffs on American imports.
