Spain will finance the purchase of American weapons for delivery to Ukraine, reports El País. According to it, after some hesitation, Madrid decided to join the PURL initiative, within the framework of which NATO allies buy weapons for Kiev from American stockpiles. Under an agreement signed in 2024, Spain already supplies Ukraine with 1 billion euros worth of locally produced weapons annually.
As the publication notes, the EU is looking for continued support for Kyiv, which is facing serious economic difficulties. The newspaper's sources explain that Spain has not yet decided the amount it will pay.
