The other day, in the "Cargo" cargo complex of Zvartnots Airport, the employees of the State Anti-Smuggling Department, together with the employees of the Department of Electronic Commerce and Air Transport, subjected the cargo imported to Armenia from the USA to customs inspection. As a result of the search, in addition to personal use items, ointment containers were found, in which there were 675 grams of white powdery "cocaine"-like narcotic masses.
In the mentioned case, the identity of the possible recipient was revealed as a result of measures taken by the operative intelligence department of SRC anti-smuggling department. The citizen had to arrive in the Republic of Armenia and receive the said messenger. After the arrival, the mentioned citizen was placed under surveillance.
Within the framework of the urgent "Controlled supply and purchase" operative-investigative measures, after receiving an international courier containing similar masses instead of "cocaine", citizen of Ukraine A.B. was arrested and transferred to the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Committee.
At the same time, as a result of operative-investigative measures, data was obtained that the citizen of Ukraine, after receiving the consignment and selling the narcotics, had to go to the Republic of Croatia again in order to receive the consignment with narcotics. The received information was transferred to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Croatia, who examined the courier and found 1300 grams of "hashish oil" drug.
The arrested citizen was transferred to the Main Department of the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee, where criminal proceedings were initiated under Articles 393 and 399 of the RA Criminal Code, within the framework of which he was arrested.
Notice: the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a legally binding court verdict.
