US President Donald Trump's visit to Japan is planned from October 27 to 29, Chief Secretary of the Government Minoru Kihara announced while speaking at a press conference.

"US President Trump was invited to Japan. His visit is scheduled for October 27-29," he said. During the trip, Trump is expected to hold talks with Japan's new prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, as well as meet with Emperor Naruhito, Kihara said.

The chief secretary of the government expressed confidence that the visit of the American leader will be an important step in the direction of further development of bilateral relations.

This will be Trump's first visit to Japan during his second term.
