The Spanish Foreign Minister answered Trump's threats to set customs duties

Spain Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares called the Kingdom a reliable ally of NATO. The diplomat responded to the October 14 threat of US President Donald Trump to pay for the Kingdom to punish Madrid by the Kingdom.

"There is no doubt about the Euro-Atlantic security on the contribution of Spain," the Foreign Minister said, according to Europa Press.

The Minister assured that the Kingdom is "a reliable ally in NATO" and has "military spending at the level of 2% of GDP", which meets the commitment to the bloc summit in 2014.

Trump has already spoken tough to Spain due to disagreements over defensive expenses.

On October 9, the American leader assumed that the Kingdom may be necessary to remove NATO due to the insufficient level of military spending on Washington.
