The world majority sees BRICS as a relevant association, Putin said

BRICS is increasingly perceived by the world majority countries as an authoritative international association, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin holds talks with Bolivian leader Luis Arce on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.

“We see that BRICS is increasingly perceived by the countries of the world majority as a truly authoritative, necessary international association,” Putin said during the negotiations.

The BRICS summit in Kazan took place from October 22 to 24.

BRICS is an interstate association created in 2006. Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1, 2024. The year began with the addition of new members to the association - in addition to the Russian Federation, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Russia's BRICS Chairmanship is held under the motto of strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security. As part of its chairmanship, the Russian Federation organizes more than 200 political, economic and social events.
