One important circumstance can be recorded from Nikol Pashinyan's message. He speaks of peace, which is not yet there.
Today, there are no signed contract, unblocked roads, returned prisoners of war and the completed demarcation.
He presents the process in Washington as a diplomatic mutual agreement, while it was a peace imposed on Armenia.
The emphases made in the message obviously prepare the public perception. On the one hand, to alleviate the consequences of Azerbaijan's occupation policy, on the other hand, to present new concessions within the framework of demarcation as a mutual and fair solution.
Pashinyan is trying to present the Karabakh movement as an obstacle to statehood.
This is not only a vulgar distortion of history, but also a dangerous approach, as this movement has created the real grounds for Armenia's independence, the national state agenda underlying the statehood.
However, such an interpretation of Pashinyan can serve as a "ideological" basis for removing the link to the declaration of independence from the preface of the Constitution.
And most importantly, Pashinyan is trying to avoid responsibility for his long-suffering policy of the last seven years. The defeats are not presented not as a result of its policy, but as a "new logic of peace."
In fact, there is no peace. There is an imposed status quo, which attempts to provide historical achievement. "
