US presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced that Washington will impose additional tariffs on China if Beijing "enters Taiwan" during his presidency. He announced this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

"I would say if you attack Taiwan, I'm going to have to put 150 to 200 percent tariffs on you," Trump said.

Asked if he would use "military force against the blockade of Taiwan" as head of state, the Republican said he would not have to "because he [Xi Jinping] respects me and knows I'm crazy."
