The head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, who was killed as a result of Israeli attacks, was an obstacle to the establishment of a ceasefire in the Middle East, EU foreign policy official Josep Borrell expressed his opinion on the X social network.
"He was an obstacle to establishing a ceasefire," the politician wrote.
Borel also reminded that Sinvar was on the terrorist list of the EU.
Earlier on Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officially confirmed the liquidation of Yahya Sinwar, the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. According to the military, Sinvar was eliminated on October 16.
