Afghanistan has called on the sanctions against the country

The Afghan Ministry of Economy has called on the international community to eliminate sanctions against the country. The Ministry of Economy believes that the continuation of these sanctions has a negative impact on trade and investment, as it contributes to poverty and unemployment in the country, the Ariana News information portal reports.

"Economic sanctions against Afghanistan have a negative impact on such economic indicators such as internal and external trade, investments and employment opportunities," the ministry's spokesman Abdul Rahman Habib quotes the publication.

The spokesman called on the international community to "not politicize humanitarian issues and continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan."
