South Korea has postponed the investigation against the president

The Seul's Supreme Court has postponed the trial of President Lee Zhe Mung for an indefinite period of time, the Law on Optional Positions, presumably on charges of violation, Yonhap reports.

The Court of Appeal canceled the hearing scheduled for June 18, but did not appoint a new date. Judges referred to Article 84 of the Constitution, according to which the incumbent president may not be prosecuted for criminal crimes, except for betrayal and rebellion.

In November 2024, the Regional Court sentenced Lee Je-Munnel to be conventional imprisonment for violating the "optional state positions" law.
