Georgia will be ready to join EU membership until 2030, said the country's prime minister

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed confidence that the country will be more ready for EU membership until 2030.

"Our goal is reflected in the Constitution of Georgia. Our goal is to become a member of the European Union by 2030, which is quite possible if a fair approach is ensured.

In 2030, Georgia will be the most beneficial to join the EU. If there is a fair approach, it will definitely happen. We hope that the approaches in the EU will improve, "the Prime Minister told reporters.

Kobakhidze noted that at this stage, the Georgian side hears only the rough and unfounded statements of the Western partners on the presumed "anti-European" actions of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party.

On November 28, 2024, Kobakhidze announced the decision to suspend the discussion of the EU's EU membership talks on the European Union. Since then, the constant protests continue in Georgia, demanding new parliamentary elections.
