Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister will discuss issues related to deepening cooperation in the South Caucasus

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will pay a working visit to Russia on May 25-27. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are on the agenda of the visit. The Russian Foreign Ministry reports that the Turkish and Russian Foreign Ministers will discuss the situation in the South Caucasus, Libya, Syria and the Black Sea region.

"They will exchange detailed opinions on the situation after the Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul. The topic of safe navigation in the Black Sea will be discussed, "the statement said.

It is noted that it is planned to discuss issues related to the deepening of cooperation in the South Caucasus, including the unblocking of transport ties and communications, as well as the restoration of the region.

"Russia and Turkey are interested in a peaceful and predictable South Caucasus. This can be done through joint efforts within the framework of 3 + 3 regional cooperation. Moscow welcomes the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, "the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
