Ft. In 2025, a record number of US citizens was recorded for Britain's citizenship

The number of US citizens applying for Britain's citizenship in early 2025 reached a record level, which is connected with the re-election as President of Donald Trump. This was reported by the Financial Times (FT), citing official statistics.

In the first three months of 2025, more than 1,900 US citizens applied to British citizenship, which is 12% more than in the fourth quarter of 2024. According to lawyers, political instability in America has led to a sharp rise in UK's visa and citizenship applications, especially after Trump customs duties.

"People leave the country for fear, frustration, and the lack of financial and personal security," says Ono Ogoega, the director of the "Improver Advisory Service" law firm.

According to the British Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of educational visas in the United States increased by 9.6% compared to the same period of 2024, which is due to the increase in demand for bachelor's degree courses.

A similar trend was also observed by Trump and his administration after "attacks" at Harvard University and other prestigious American universities.
