The Russian side is interested in Armenia's active participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"We are interested in Armenia's active participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization," Lavrov said at a news conference after talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The head of the Russian diplomacy reported that the topic of security cooperation was raised during the conversation.
"We are allies. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Russian military base in Armenia, which is an important component of ensuring the country's security interests, "he said that Russia protects close contacts between military and law enforcement agencies, as well as security services from the two countries.
"All this should be based on the rich experience that has accumulated over the years," he said.
