On May 19, RA Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg Kocharyan and Head of the Penitentiary Service Tsovinar Tadevosyan paid a working visit to Armavir Penitentiary Institution.
The Deputy Minister and the head of the service toured the main areas of the institution, met with the persons who went on hunger strike, and then heard various cells and talked to prisoners.
Within the framework of his working visit, Gevorg Kocharyan and Tsovinar Tadevosyan also toured the kitchen of the institution, to follow the food process, got acquainted with the menu.
During the visit, the head of the penitentiary service Tsovinar Tadevosyan met with 10 people sentenced to life in prison, to listen to the legal and personal issues raised by them. The lifers in particular presented issues related to parole, change of security zones and medical care. During the meeting, the lifers were clarified, the legal procedures of the issues raised, the ways of resolving, and the vision of further reforms were discussed.
