Abbas intends to discuss the situation in Gaza on May 10 and the relations between the two countries

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas intends to discuss bilateral relations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on May 10 and the situation in Gaza. As President's Adviser Mahmoud al-Habbash told TASS, Abbas also plans to inform Putin about the priorities of the Palestinian conflict.

"The meeting will give an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation in all spheres, especially since there are close historical ties between Russia and Palestine.
Abbas will also inform his host about the recent developments in Palestine, taking into account the continuous aggression of Israel against the Palestinian people, especially on the priorities of the Palestinian issue, "said the presidential adviser.

Earlier, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal told Izvestia that Abbas would arrive in Russia on May 8, and talks to Putin are expected to hold talks on May 10. According to Al-Habash, the Palestinian leader will "congratulate Putin on Victory Day."

The previous meeting of the presidents took place in October 2024 during the BRICS summit in Kazan.
