Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the main goal of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip is the crushing of the radical Hamas movement.
"We have a lot of goals, we want to return 59 kidnapped, but the war is a higher goal, and it is a victory over our enemy," said Netanyahu during one of the ceremonies dedicated to the Independence Day of the Jewish State. The Prime Minister's speech was broadcast on large Israeli TV channels.
On March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip, striking the Gaza Strip, thus interrupting the ceasefire approved in January 2025.
Netanyahu's office explained this by the Radical Palestinian Hamas Movement from the offers of the mediators and the US President's Special Envoy, noting that the purpose of the action is to release all hostages in enclave. Radicals blamed Israel and the United States for the resumption of hostilities.
