A few days ago, the presentation of the "Injured Eagle" of the Swiss-Armenian photojournalist Demir Sionemez took place within the framework of the scientific quadrator of the "Saturday Week" scientific-scientist in Armenia. In the book, Sionme has documented the fall of Artsakh (2020-2023), presented the tragic reality of the war, the stories of people and their spirit. Ermenihaber.am talked about the topic with the author of the book.
Mr. Sionmez, the book "Injured Eagle" about Artsakh has been published for the second time in Armenia. You also described the violent displacement of the people of Artsakh in the second edition. What can you say about your book? How did the idea originate and how did you decide the name of the book?
After returning from the Artsakh war, I continued to follow the developments and make notes. I noticed that almost nothing is talked about the Artsakh war and is not written. If there are hundreds of books about the 1915 Armenian Genocide, there are millions of video sources, then there are almost no documents or publications on the Artsakh war and genocide. Recently, a tendency has become clear, aimed at obliged to forget the Artsakh genocide. It was with this realization of me, and I had a mindset to publish this book to leave traces in history.
In the first edition of the book, I presented the 44-day Artsakh war, as well as my assessments, observations and photos of me in person. And in the second, reprinted and enlarged version of the book, I have discussed in detail for the blockade and occupation of Artsakh and the Occupy and Occupation of the Middle East and the Middle East and the Middle East.
