The Swiss Federal Council (Government) has approved the entry into force of the bill prohibiting Hamas and related organizations on May 15, which is aimed at combating the activities of the Palestinian radical movement and its support in the country. This is stated in the message posted on the government's website.
The new law will make it easier to collect evidence for criminal prosecution of Hamas and taking preventive measures against members of these organizations, including the entry of the country and expulsion from Switzerland.
It is expected that this will make it difficult to use Switzerland as a financial center for the organization.
According to the government, the deadline for the procedure for the referendum on this bill has expired on April 19.
