On April 23, the RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe with the President of the Mayoros Razopulos. The RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about this.
The interlocutors discussed issues of cooperation between the RA-European Council. Both sides noted the progress made by the RA democratic reforms.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Theodoros Razopulos stressed the importance of respecting democratic values in modern conditions. Minister Mirzoyan praised the principled positions expressed by other bodies of the PACE and the Council of Europe in issues related to Armenia.
The RA Foreign Minister and the PACE President exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the signing of an agreement on peace and interstate relations between the two countries will be an important milestone in establishing peace in the region.
