As we have already informed, on April 3, the Hot Rights Defender's hotline was alerted to the fact that people in the Nubarashen penitentiary were beaten by masks. This was reported by the RA MCI.
As a result of the monitoring of social networks and mass media, there was also information that any medical care were not provided to the convicts.
On the instructions of the Defender, a rapid response team left for the Nubarashen penitentiary to get acquainted with the details of the raised issues on the spot and a private talk with those deprived of liberty.
During the visit, the representatives of the Defender's Office had a private talk with about 30 people deprived of liberty, including lifers, and detainees, toured the documents on those deprived of liberty.
During the private conversations, some of the people who were deprived of liberty were represented by the same day, according to their claim that the employees of the special importance department of the Penitentiary Service, the disproportionate physical force, insults and swearing to them. Those who were deprived of liberty claimed that not the mattresses of the cells, but a towel.
At the same time, the representatives of the Defender's Office were registered by the bodily injuries of those who were deprived of liberty.
It was also noted that those who have deprived of liberty are provided with medical care, including a X-ray examination in connection with the suspicion of injuries.
The information received during the visit and the recorded problems are currently summed up.
According to them, relevant clarifications will be required from the competent state bodies.
