The draft law on "Cyber ​​Security" was discussed

The Minister of High Technological Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan also took part in a trilateral working meeting between the US Department of Tech, Armenia's Tech Committee, Armenia's Numbers System Agency and Amcham's Digital Transformation Committee on March 7.

Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan highlighted the state-private cooperation, emphasizing that many proposals submitted by the private sector were taken into account during the development of the draft law. He noted that the approach of the state is based on the combination of bilateral responsibilities and interests.

The Minister stressed that the Armenian government pays great attention to increasing the level of cybersecurity, the preservation of cybershigyen and ensuring the security of digital environment. He presented a number of provisions envisaged by the draft law, including the steps taken by the private sector to cyber-defense.

Anushik Avetyan, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the meeting.
He noted that the member organizations of the Chamber have formed a number of issues and proposals on the law, which are based on both local and international experience.

Avetyan stressed the importance of effective cooperation between private and public sectors in the process of implementing legislative reforms.

He thanked the RA Ministry of High Technological Industry and the Armenian Information Systems Agency for constructive cooperation.

Nerses Yeritsyan, director of the Information Systems Agency, also made a speech by presenting the agency's view.

Then the members of the Amcham Council presented their observations and the proposals on the project.

During the meeting, they touched upon the main provisions of the law, their possible impact on Armenia's digital ecosystem.

As a result of the discussion, a number of agreements were reached, which will contribute to the effectiveness of the further implementation of the Law on Cybers Security.
