Russian company shares rise after Putin-Trump talks (Photo)


Russian companies' shares rose after a phone conversation between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

 

According to media reports, Russian companies rose by $2.2 billion in one hour, including those under sanctions. The Moscow Stock Exchange index jumped above 3,100 points for the first time since July 9.

 

"The IMOEX2 index, which shows market dynamics, including during the evening session, rose by 3.01% at 20:23 Moscow time, reaching 3,116.85 points. The index has not risen above 3,100 points for seven months since July 9, 2024. As of 21:42 Moscow time, the index's growth accelerated to 4.5%, reaching more than 3,160 points," RBC reports.

 

It is noted that the leaders of growth as of 21:34 were Unipro (+8.85%), NOVATEK (+8.51%), Gazprom (+8.13%), Sovcomflot (+7.81%), Transneft (preferred shares, +6.03%), Yandex (+6.02%) and IT-Technologies (+5.83%).
