Our opposition colleagues are today proposing to set the price of transportation in Yerevan at less than 100 drams. In fact, the proposal presented by Mr. Torosyan and the “National Progress” faction is about approaching all the changes that have been made in terms of privileges with the logic of a boycott.
Listing in his words the privileges for transportation users, Avinyan said:
“In 1998, Yerevan transportation was 100 drams, we were traveling in “Rafs” and Gazelles, although Gazelles were considered a better car at that time.
And now you are proposing to make it less than 100 drams, when we are traveling in “MANs” and “Zhong tongs,” he added.
According to Avinyan, the oppositionists are subjecting citizens to psychological terror, convincing them that the ticket has become 300 drams. “You have fooled people into thinking that transportation will become 300 drams,” he said.
“I want you to know, dear Yerevan residents, that the extra 50 drams you pay serves several purposes, first of all, the continuous development of transportation in Yerevan,” the mayor noted.
