Vazgen Harutyunyan, Head of the Transport Department of the Yerevan Municipality Staff, mentioned this today in a conversation with journalists at the Yerevan Municipality, referring to the problem of crowded transportation.
“There was a problem with recruiting drivers, since we had introduced 171 new buses to the routes.
Now the problem is almost regulated and there is no shortage of vehicles on the routes at the moment,” he noted.
In response to the question of how they will control that people pay, Harutyunyan said: “I do not have access to the fare collection figures, the financial department has access to that.
At the moment, there are no supervisors to write fines. But yes, there are people who monitor the work, help people, they are not supervisors, but public employees of the municipality, who simply carry out monitoring,” the Head of the Transport Department emphasized.
