The NA session has started the discussion of the draft law on the launch of the process of Armenia’s membership in the EU. It is presented by the representative of the civil initiative Artak Zeynalyan.
According to him, the law announces the launch of the process of the initiators and the Republic of Armenia’s membership in the EU, which will determine the direction and scale of the authorities’ decisions and practices.
“The adoption of the law will contribute to the formation of a common environment of civilization, the Republic of Armenia’s membership in the European Union will enrich the EU value system and civilizational model with the experience and originality accumulated by the centuries-old Armenian history.”
According to him, the draft law is about the launch of EU membership, not about neutralizing the EAEU. “The issue here is not about leaving or severing ties with the EAEU. It is not about leaving the markets that have been conquered and occupied in the EAEU, but about filling them with new markets.
If the dairy products produced in Armenia are not consumed in the EU, which I doubt, we have such types that are of interest in the EU, we will sell such products that will be in demand, which are not in the EU and the EU is empty in that regard.
I repeat, this is not about leaving the EAEU along with the markets, but about acquiring new markets,” Zeynalyan noted.
