Since the start of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, Egypt has sent more than 5,000 trucks of humanitarian aid to the enclave. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a corresponding statement in response to the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Egypt does not approve of Netanyahu's rhetoric during an interview with an American media outlet, as such statements undermine all the efforts that Egypt is making to help Gaza.
Since the beginning of the ceasefire, 5,000 trucks with humanitarian supplies have entered the enclave from the Egyptian side, and the exit from Gaza has been significantly simplified for the wounded, sick and dual citizens," the document says.
Earlier, the head of the Israeli cabinet in an interview with Fox News accused Cairo of preventing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip from leaving the enclave.
