The trial of fabricated cases against the representatives of the former military and political leadership of the occupied Artsakh Republic and civilians will continue today in the military court of Baku.
They are accused of "terrorism", "war crimes", "genocide" and other "crimes".
As reported by the Azerbaijani mass media, the motion to replace preventive detention with house arrest will be discussed today.
In total, 16 Armenians will stand trial: former Artsakh presidents Arayik Harutyunyan, Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, former Speaker of the National Assembly Davit Ishkhanyan, former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Defense Army Davit Manukyan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Babayan, former Defense Forces Commander Levon Mnatsakanyan, Artsakh former Minister of State Ruben Vardanyan, civilians: Vasili Beglaryan, Erik Ghazaryan, Davit Alaverdyan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Madat Babayan, Garik Martirosyan, Melikset Pashayan.
According to the decision of the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, 1,389 criminal cases examined by the Prosecutor General's Office and other investigative bodies of the country regarding "crimes" committed between October 1987 and April 22, 2024 were combined into one proceeding.
