The Ministry of Defense issued a message.
"As part of his working visit to France, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastian Lecorne on December 17.
The meeting was preceded by an official welcome ceremony with the participation of the honor guard and the national anthems of both countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan expressed his condolences regarding the victims of the cyclone in the French overseas island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between Armenia and France in the field of defense was discussed.
Suren Papikyan emphasized both the steady implementation of the previously reached agreements with Sebastian Lecorne, as well as the new agreements to be reached regarding cooperation during this meeting.
The parties confirmed that the cooperation was established on a long-term and institutional basis.
The Minister of the French Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu, confirmed the readiness to develop cooperation."
