The Ministry of Internal Affairs has put into circulation draft laws on new passports and identification cards. The new identification cards will be issued to citizens for a period of 5 years, instead of the current 10 years.
The draft envisages that the identification card will have an electronic data repository with an electronic component providing contact and contactless communication.
The electronic repository component and the software applications operating in it will enable the citizen to carry out electronic identification and use an electronic digital signature.
