"Hraparak" writes: Anna Hakobyan, who had been inactive and disappeared from the public sphere for several months before the elections, suddenly became active in the summer and started talking about domestic violence and women's rights, and even hosts podcasts on this topic. Her live broadcasts are spread across the Internet, and people ask questions, put forward hypotheses about what purpose and why Nikol Pashinyan's wife entered this topic, and so diligently.
She also talked about legislative changes and introducing a new Criminal Article related to violence against women, and even tried to involve the parliamentary opposition in her initiative, offering the leaders of two opposition factions to meet with her and discuss these issues. They, naturally, refused. Then Mrs. Hakobyan instructed parliamentarians on Facebook to make changes to the Criminal Code and recognize domestic violence as a separate crime. It is clear that the CP quickly moved to fulfill this assignment. The lady's assignment was seized upon by three government ladies: Zaruhi Batoyan, Sona Ghazaryan, and Tsovinar Vardanyan. They authored another draft of amendments to the long-suffering law "On Domestic Violence" and related laws, which was put into circulation in parliament exactly one week after the lady's assignment.
The deputies propose to further tighten the laws on cases of both physical and psychological violence in the family and between partners, including providing for punishment in all cases when there is or is not a complaint, and the fact of violence has been recorded by others. Mandatory punishment should also be established in cases where one of the parties has repented and withdrawn the application. This legislative package also excludes reconciliation, repeated interrogation of the victim, house arrest of the perpetrator, especially when he lives in the same house with the victim, in order to avoid new trauma, and also requires the rehabilitation of the perpetrator. Yesterday, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan was also involved in this campaign. The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued two extensive statements about how important the initiative of Anna Hakobyan was, and how urgent it is for Armenia to make these legislative changes.
Let us remind you that Anna Hakobyan once declared with equal enthusiasm that “education is fashionable”, called on everyone to learn, read books, now, leaving aside the educational campaign, she has decided to establish order in Armenian families and even declares that she has undertaken a mission to change the model of Armenian families. According to her, all men in Armenian families are rapists, and every second woman is subjected to violence. What hidden goals and interests lie behind this campaign will become clear in the future, but, undoubtedly, the wife of the head of state did not enter this field for nothing, and it is not by chance that she presents the colors in a condensed form. Meanwhile, the legislator and spreader of violence in our country is her husband, who has been threatening, shouting, insulting and humiliating people from the podiums for 8 years, using psychological violence and encouraging violence, as he did yesterday, thanking the law enforcement officers who brought Gagik Khachatryan on a stretcher in his briefing.
By the way, even government circles are puzzled by such initiative from Pashinyan's wife, which received a lightning response among government women. Some joke that Anna Hakobyan is dissatisfied with her husband and is trying to get rid of Armenian men by turning the stricter law into a bludgeon for every second Armenian man, who has no way to avoid punishment, even if his own wife does not complain, and the fact of violence is not proven.
For example, a neighbor's testimony based on a sick imagination and jealousy can serve as a valid reason to punish a person.
