The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "Yerevan" penitentiary, the same as the NSS padval, accommodates a very limited number of prisoners. There are only 13 cells, 5 of which are single, and the rest are designed for up to 5 people.
Nairi Hunanyan and her brother have been here for 27 years - they are in solitary confinement, that is, 2 cells are constantly occupied. Gagik Tsarukyan, Robert Kocharyan and Gagik Beglaryan are currently being held in the remaining cells.
It turns out that before the large-scale attack on the Kocharyan family, places were freed up in the NSS padval. So to speak, ordinary criminals were transferred to other detention centers to free up space for political prisoners.
Although there are no ordinary criminals in the NSS. Here, people with very serious charges are held, or those who have problems with the criminal subculture, and, say, their lives are in danger in other penitentiary institutions.
Our sources say that before the Kocharyans were brought to the NSS, one person from almost every cell was transferred to other prisons to free up space. We were told that at the end of last week, one person was transferred from the Yerevan Center penitentiary to other penitentiaries. In other words, they have opened up space again.
Whether this means that the authorities are preparing new arrests is difficult to say. It is also not yet known what the case may be. But the fact suggests something.
Let us remind you that Argam Abrahamyan, Sedrak Kocharyan and Andranik Tevanyan are currently also being held in the Yerevan Center Penitentiary Institution, but they are sitting in cells with several beds.
