Armenia de facto does not participate in the discussions of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), but de jure it remains a member of the organization. About thisTo TASSCSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadikov stated in an interview.
"You know, we have been discussing this issue for a long time. As of today, de facto Armenia does not participate in the discussion of issues within the CSTO framework, de facto Armenia does not send its employees, servicemen and employees of the CSTO Secretariat to quota positions, and for the third year already Armenia has not paid membership fees. But de jure they remain members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," he noted.
According to the Secretary General, Armenia has made a serious contribution to the development of the CSTO, and the Armenian people have supported all the initiatives of the country's leadership at different times.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced from the parliament's rostrum that he is in favor of the republic's withdrawal from the CSTO and would be pleased if it happens. According to him, this would free Yerevan from the dilemma of whether to withdraw or not to withdraw from the organization.
