On August 25, 2026, a working meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian "Electricity System Operator" Company, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani "Azerenergy" Company took place in the city of Lachin, Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of importing and exporting electricity between the two countries, as well as possible options for interconnecting the energy infrastructures of the two states at the state border," the statement said.
