Iran continues to negotiate with the United States through intermediaries, making diplomacy its top priority and maintaining its readiness to defend the country. Iran's ambassador to Thailand, Nasreddin Heydari, stated this in an interview with TASS.
"Negotiations are ongoing through mediators. The main question is to what extent the American side intends to fulfill its obligations. Diplomacy remains our priority, but we are always ready to defend our homeland," he said. The United States and Israel went to war against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that provided for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts for 60 days.
Later, US-Iran negotiations on the implementation of the memorandum were held in Burgenstock, Switzerland, with the mediation of Doha and Islamabad. However, on the night of July 8, the United States resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, accusing it of violating the terms of the agreements reached on the Strait of Hormuz.
