The Armenian shooting team has won the medal tally of the World Championship of the moving target competition, the RA Ministry of Sports and Recreation announced.
The Armenian team won 9 medals: 5 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze at the moving target world championship held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on July 20-26.
For the first time in history, the Armenian team also had world champions. Hayk Minasyan and Gor Khachatryan won the title of world champion in the adult fight.
The success also continued in the team fight. The trio of Hayk Minasyan, Gor Khachatryan and Hovhannes Margaryan became gold medalists in the moving target normal running competition.
Aida Azatyan stood out with her exceptional result at the World Youth Championship, becoming a double winner of the World Championship.
Armenian representatives won team medals in other competitions as well. The men's team, consisting of Hayk Minasyan, Gor Khachatryan and Hovhannes Margaryan, won the silver medal, taking second place in the mixed race.
Hayk Minasyan's individual achievement stood out among the bronze medals. In addition, the Armenian team registered two more bronze medals in the team competition of 50 meters mixed and normal running, again consisting of Hayk Minasyan, Gor Khachatryan and Hovhannes Margaryan.
The Armenian team participated in the World Championship with 12 shooters.
