Alkhas Ghazaryan and Arusyak Manavazyan put into circulation a draft of the law, by which RA citizens living abroad will be deprived of their right to vote, if they have not been in Armenia in the last 6 months. The justification is that RA citizens come from Russia and vote for the opposition.
We tried to find out how many people arrived in Armenia on the threshold of June 7. We found out from our sources at "Zvartnots" airport that in 2026 In the period from May 1 to June 4, the number of RA citizens who arrived in Armenia this year was less than in the same days last year.
The difference was 13 thousand 390 citizens or 7.5 percent less. It turns out that in 2025 in May and the first 4 days of June, 193 thousand 47 RA citizens arrived in Armenia by air and land, and in the same days of 2026, 179 thousand 657 citizens.
Our source said that 2 thousand 571 more RA citizens arrived in Armenia in 2026 than in 2025 through the checkpoints of "Shirak" and "Zvartnots" airports alone. Last year, that number was 79 thousand 670, this year - 82 thousand 241 citizens, but the number of total arrivals does not change. Now the question is: why does the National Assembly adopt such an unconstitutional project?
