The government has allocated funds for the holding of the European junior, youth and under-21 karate championship to be held in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Armenia.
The tournament will be held in 2027. February 5-11. The decision was taken at the May 14 executive session.
The Karate Federation of Armenia will carry out a number of preparatory works with the allocated funds: purchase necessary services and products, pay mandatory membership fees, etc. 270 million drams will be allocated to the Karate Federation of Armenia in the first half of this year for the mentioned expenses, according to the submitted budget and relevant supporting documents.
Around 2,000 athletes, more than 5 dozen referees, as well as their accompanying and service staff are expected to participate in the championship. According to preliminary data, in general, around 3,000 people are expected to participate in the European Youth, Youth and Under-21 Championship.
The holding of the championship will contribute to the development and popularization of sports, the restoration of sports infrastructures, as well as the popularization of Armenia on international sports platforms, while promoting the development of tourism.
